This week, the improv-outreach non profit I work with, Laughter for a Change, announced that we're finally ready to roll out our improv curriculum videos! This means that anyone, anywhere in the world can watch our videos and learn simple improv games to try out at home, work, or within their own organizations.
The curriculum was shot in a warehouse south of LA over a series of weekends over the past year or so, and features some of the games L4C's Comedy Mentors use in our outreach programs for Warming Up, Team Building, and Storytelling. We've always been interested in encouraging people to experience the transformative power of play, and have had a great deal of success leading these games IRL, so the videos are a natural extension of L4C's mission. My mentor and L4C Executive Director, Ed Greenberg, is also making himself available each week on Skype to answer any questions viewers may have about the games or how to implement them into their existing work, which is super rad. He is an incredible improviser and is always reflecting on improv on his blog, so be sure to check him out there. I'm really excited to see the response to the videos, as we have already connected with people who run their own non-profits from as far away as Ghana and are looking for new ways to build community and connect. I'm sure we are going to learn a LOT from the feedback we receive. Connect with L4C on Facebook, Twitter, or on our website here!
